Queues & Catch Ups

Yesterday was Record Store Day!
There were a few things on the list of releases that Ian wanted to add to his ever expanding vinyl collection, so we decided that we'd go.  We arrived at Spillers Records, armed with Starbucks at around 8.20 a.m., 40 minutes before opening, but it wasn't quite early enough.  There was already a bit [understatement] of a queue!  Nevertheless, we joined, and kept our fingers crossed that there would at least be one of the three or four titles he wanted to buy left by the time we reached the front.

In the end we were queueing for a whole three hours!  Fortunately, only one of the records on his list had sold out, so it was, overall, a great success! :)
(He got 'Mclusky Do Dallas', Animal Collective 'Transverse Temporal Gyrus' and a Future of the Left 7". Refused 'The Shape of Punk to Come' had sold out.)

Afterwards, Ian headed home to Llanelli & I headed home too.

I subsequently had the loveliest of catch ups with one of my oldest friends.  We've drifted apart in the past year or so, and I always think that it's a real shame, as we were so close for a long time.  We had hot chocolate in a local cafe and a good old chat, and agreed that we'd both make the effort to do it more often.

I really hope that we do
x
