Queues & Catch Ups

Yesterday was Record Store Day!
There were a few things on the list of releases that Ian wanted to add to his ever expanding vinyl collection, so we decided that we'd go.  We arrived at Spillers Records, armed with Starbucks at around 8.20 a.m., 40 minutes before opening, but it wasn't quite early enough.  There was already a bit [understatement] of a queue!  Nevertheless, we joined, and kept our fingers crossed that there would at least be one of the three or four titles he wanted to buy left by the time we reached the front.

In the end we were queueing for a whole three hours!  Fortunately, only one of the records on his list had sold out, so it was, overall, a great success! :)
(He got 'Mclusky Do Dallas', Animal Collective 'Transverse Temporal Gyrus' and a Future of the Left 7". Refused 'The Shape of Punk to Come' had sold out.)

Afterwards, Ian headed home to Llanelli & I headed home too.

I subsequently had the loveliest of catch ups with one of my oldest friends.  We've drifted apart in the past year or so, and I always think that it's a real shame, as we were so close for a long time.  We had hot chocolate in a local cafe and a good old chat, and agreed that we'd both make the effort to do it more often.

I really hope that we do

I've decided...

That when I move out, my home will only have the prettiest tea cups etc.
These are at the very top of the list! :)

Friday evening, at last

My gosh, it's been one looong week!

The (5 day) Easter weekend was lovely, and I've never not wanted to go back to work quite so much.  Me and Moo had a Lord of the Rings-athon!  I'd never seen any of the films before, so he decided that we should watch them together.  We managed to watch all 3 extended editions, in 2 days.
*proud face*

Despite not knowing quite what to expect, I actually really enjoyed them.  As a sort of revenge, I'm now making him watch all 8 Harry Potter films. 4 down, 4 to go.

I made mini egg topped rice krispie cakes and Easter baskets for my cousins' little ones
(and got treated by mam too!)
I've been treating myself a lot too lately, and have started to add to my summer wardrobe.  I'm currently in love with new look's range of sleeveless tops.

After pay day I went a bit mad and spent a small fortune on some new Benefit make up.  I also picked up two very cute cards for my wall in Urban Outfitters.  One Rob Ryan & one Gemma Correll.

Next month I'm going to have to try to be good and not buy (m)any clothes etc!

Lots has happened since my last post, I saw kids in glass houses for probably the fifteenth time and they were amazing as always.  The weather has been strange to say the least.  My parents celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary.  Ian went to Brussels and came back again.  Most importantly though, it's pretty much been decided that come July, we'll be moving in together.  I've always lived with my parents and I'm scared and happy and nervous and excited all at the same time.  It's all a little bit surreal!

Spring, Sunshine and... Snow?

The weather in the UK has been very strange (to say the least) recently.  Last week, there was glorious sunshine and everyone assumed that summer had come early! There were bare arms and legs everywhere you looked.  I even took a walk up to the top of the mountain and took some pics as it was so nice. And now, this week, they’re predicting snow. It has actually snowed quite heavily in some parts of the country too apparently!

This is only a short post (I’m currently bored, at work) and I do intend to do a proper update at some point, perhaps over the Easter weekend if I get the opportunity. I do have 5 lovely days off work to look forward to, so no excuse really!

Meanwhile I shall ponder what colour of Leigh jeans to buy from Topshop next… soo difficult!

Rose, Lavender or Marine??
